Intermountain Health St George Regional Hospital in Utah is seeking a part-time, on-call dishwashing and housekeeping teammate to support multiple kitchen stations with careful attention to cleanliness and safety. The role involves preparing and serving beverages, salads, pastas, entrees, and catering functions while maintaining HACCP standards.

Responsibilities include cleaning, stocking, and cash handling, with shifts 7am–6pm across Sundays to Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification is required by first day of work (required only in the states of Utah and Idaho).
• Demonstrates ability to read color coded labels and chemicals as well as following written and verbal directions.
• Demonstrate ability to operate housekeeping equipment and dish machine (preferred).

Responsible for dishwashing and other general housekeeping tasks. Maintains the Culinary Department in a sanitary, safe, and clean condition that meets hospital, Health Department and Joint Commission standards.

Position Stations to Support

• Dish Room: Cleans and sanitizes dishes with and without department equipment, disinfects areas & properly disposing of waste & trash.
• Barista Station: Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages with precision and care.
• Salad/Deli Station: Create fresh and delicious salads and deli items, ensuring high-quality presentation.
• Pizza and Pasta Station: Craft mouth-watering pizzas and pasta dishes, maintaining consistency and taste.
• Grill Station: Cook and serve grilled items to perfection, adhering to safety and hygiene standards.
• Entrée Serving: Plate and serve main courses with attention to detail and customer preferences.
• Action Station: Engage with customers while preparing made-to-order dishes, showcasing your culinary skills.
• Cashiering: Handle transactions efficiently and accurately, providing excellent customer service.

Position Details PRN, on call and as needed Pay Rate: Based on Experience ($17.68 - $22.99) Availability needed: Sunday-Saturday 7am-6pm for 8 hour shifts Dynamic team with opportunities to cross train and support other kitchen areas for more exciting shifts!

Job Essentials

• Performs food preparation functions (following standard recipe, assembling ingredients), for example, prepares salads, sandwiches, vegetables, and fruit.
• Understands modified diets and prepares modified recipes using appropriate techniques.
• Maintains an organized and sanitary working environment.
• Maintains proper quantities of production with appropriate rotation of product.
• Performs housekeeping functions including cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, floor care, and equipment (oven, fryer, hoods).
• Follows HACCP standards.

Essential Functions

• Cleans and sanitizes dishes Collects carts with patient trays from hospital floors.
• Cleans and disinfects assigned areas including dining areas using department cleaning procedures.
• Uses cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
• Understands procedures and properly disposes of infectious waste and trash.
• Operates and maintains assigned equipment (e.g. commercial dishwasher) according to established procedures.

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs. Occasional interaction with customers that requires employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use. Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items. Remain standing for long periods of time to perform work. Tolerate extremes in temperature such as performing work around dish machines and tolerate exposure to cleaning chemicals.
