Job summary

Intermountain Health in Park City, UT is seeking a full-time Dish Room & Housekeeping associate responsible for dishwashing and maintaining sanitary conditions in the Culinary Department according to hospital and Joint Commission standards.

This role requires a Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification by day one, and a preferred one year of related experience. The shift is Sunday–Saturday 7:30am–3:30pm with a pay rate of $17.43–$22.29 hourly and benefits eligibility.

Qualifications

• Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification required by first day of work.
• One year of experience in food service or housekeeping preferred.
• Ability to read color coded labels and numbers and follow written/verbal directions.
• Operate housekeeping equipment and dish machine as needed.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes dishes and serves in dining areas.
• Collects patient trays and cleans assigned areas per department procedures.
• Uses cleaning chemicals safely according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
• Disposes of waste properly and operates dishwashing equipment correctly.
• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation throughout the Culinary Department.
• Follows all safety and infection control guidelines.

• Pay Rate: Based on Experience ($17.43 - $22.29)

• Availability needed: Sunday-Saturday 7:30am-3:30pm

Essential Functions

• Cleans and sanitizes dishes
• Collects carts with patient trays from hospital floors.
• Cleans and disinfects assigned areas including dining areas using department cleaning procedures.
• Uses cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
• Understands procedures and properly disposes of infectious waste and trash.
• Operates and maintains assigned equipment (e.g. commercial dishwasher) according to established procedures.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates ability to read color coded labels and chemicals as well as following written and verbal directions
• Demonstrate ability to operate housekeeping equipment and dish machine (preferred)

Physical Requirements

• Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
• Occasional interaction with customers that requires employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
• Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.
• Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
• Remain standing for long periods of time to perform work.
• Tolerate extremes in temperature such as performing work around dish machines and tolerate exposure to cleaning chemicals.
