Job summary

Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center in Columbia, MD is seeking a Nutrition Assistant II to provide nutritious meals and excellent customer service to patients, visitors and staff. In this role you will help with food preparation, serving, and ensuring a sanitary environment in the cafeteria.

Rotating shift, full-time position with weekends required; involves cash handling, tray delivery, and adherence to patient diet orders.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Set up assigned cafeteria station with accuracy and hygiene.
• Serve food to hospital employees, patients, and visitors, adhering to safe handling and portioning.
• Process cash, credit and debit transactions accurately with receipts.
• Label, date, rotate, and discard expired items.
• Take temperatures of hot/cold foods and log any deviations.
• Deliver meal trays to patients' rooms following protocol.
• Assist patients with tray setup and respond to inquiries promptly.
• Maintain stock levels to par levels and keep work areas clean.
