Job summary

Syncreon Consulting seeks a Nutanix-VMware Administrator with strong host migration experience for a contract, on-site role in New York. The candidate will move hosts from existing ESXi to Nutanix AHV, migrate VMs, and reintroduce hosts.

Responsibilities include Nutanix cluster deployment, AD management, scripting, and DR planning. Requirements include 5+ years in IT support, Nutanix and VMware migration expertise, and a Bachelor’s in IT.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5 years of IT support experience and relevant migration work.
• Strong Nutanix and VMware migration experience is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Migrate hosts off existing ESXi hosts and migrate VMs to Nutanix AHV.
• Manage Nutanix/Nutanix AHV environment and perform cluster deployments.
• Handle disaster recovery planning and backups for systems and data.
• Assist with patching, firmware updates, and security hardening.
• Provide on-site support five days a week and participate in on-site interviews.

Job Responsibilities

Seeking a highly motivated candidate who demonstrates commitment to customer service and possesses strong technical skills and proficiency working with:

• Windows Server operating systems, Linux Operating Systems, users administration, file system, software, and services
• Understanding of servers and various storage RAID configuration
• Active Directory management, including backup and recovery of domain and GPO setup
• In-Depth Knowledge of NutanixHypervisor Migration best practices – Required
• In-Depth Knowledge of VMware Hypervisor Migration to NutanixAHV Hypervisor
• Knowledge in NutanixCluster Deployment - required
• Fundamental networking concepts and troubleshooting such as DHCP, DNS, Routing, Firewall
• Fundamental understanding of security principles, ACL, Encryption
• Scripting: PowerShell, bash, ksh or perl for automating routine tasks
• Experienced with monitoring system health and performance, able to provide statistics to identify bottlenecks and lead optimization efforts
• Disaster recovery planning and ability to perform backup and restore for systems, applications and data
• Patch and firmware installation and management
• Understanding of Baselining, utilizing Industrial Defender – preferred
• Candidate must be knowledgeable of Darksite patching of NutanixHypervisor and components as well as other Hypervisors. - preferred
• Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Information Technology) with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in IT Support.
• Knowledge of NERC CIP compliance and how it effects best practices in Datacenters - Preferred
