Location: Chandler, AZ area (on-site/hybrid preferred) (Must be US Citizen and no C2C or 3rd parties)
About the Opportunity
Our client, a well-established organization undergoing a major infrastructure modernization initiative, is seeking Systems Engineers/Administrators to lead a global migration off VMware onto Nutanix, while also owning core Windows infrastructure and enterprise systems administration.
What You'll Do
- Execute enterprise-scale migration of virtualized workloads from VMware (vSphere/ESXi/vCenter) to Nutanix AHV/AOS
- Utilize Nutanix Move and related tooling to plan, validate, and execute VM migrations with minimal downtime
- Rightsize and re-architect infrastructure during migration rather than performing simple lift-and-shift
- Manage and administer Nutanix Prism Central/Element environments post-migration
- Administer and maintain Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022), including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP across a global footprint
- Support and manage Microsoft 365 / Azure AD (Entra ID) administration, including identity, licensing, and hybrid AD sync (Azure AD Connect)
- Manage patching, updates, and lifecycle maintenance across physical and virtual Windows Server infrastructure
- Administer enterprise storage/SAN environments and integrate storage considerations into the migration plan
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and networking teams to ensure a smooth global rollout
- Document migration runbooks, validation checklists, and post-migration support procedures
What You Bring
- Deep hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter administration
- Proven Nutanix AHV/AOS experience — real migration project experience strongly preferred over certification alone
- Nutanix certification (NCP-MCI or NCA) a plus
- Strong, hands-on Windows Server administration background (2016/2019/2022), including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP, and file/print services
- Experience administering Microsoft 365 and Azure AD/Entra ID in an enterprise environment
- Experience with backup/DR tooling (Veeam, Rubrik, or similar) in a hypervisor transition context
- Scripting ability (PowerShell/Python) for migration automation, validation, and general systems administration
- Strong communication skills — this role interfaces directly with stakeholders across a global infrastructure footprint
Location & Logistics
Candidates based in or willing to work from the Chandler, AZ area strongly preferred, as this role has a path to full-time conversion tied to a physical hub location.
