Job summary

A.S. Aerospace Inc. operates in the Santa Clarita Valley, seeking a seasoned machinist for the nut forming line. The role focuses on setting up and running nut forming machines, inspecting parts, and following blueprints and job orders to ensure tolerances are met.

Candidates should have 5+ years in fastener manufacturing and experience with nickel alloys (A286, Wapaloy, Inconel). A safety-conscious team player with SPC knowledge is preferred.

Qualifications

• Working experience in a fastener manufacturing environment.
• Experience working with high nickel alloys (A286, Wapaloy, Inconel).
• Experience with multi-station National nut forming machines.
• Working knowledge of nut forming machinery and procedures.
• Ability to inspect parts with various inspection instruments.
• Knowledge in the use of SPC (statistical process control).
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Mathematical skills: apply basic math concepts (add, subtract, multiply, divide, angles, radius, ratios).
• Reasoning ability: solve practical problems with standardization.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate nut forming machines.
• Adjust tooling and transfer fingers at each station.
• Start machine and inspect first run for conformance.
• Inspect parts with micrometers, gauges, and inspection instruments.
• Read blueprints or job orders for specifications and tooling.
• Record keeping, data entry, housekeeping and safety compliance.
• Suggest process improvement ideas.
• Communicate machine conditions to maintenance/supervision.

Join one of the fastest-growing aerospace companies in the Santa Clarita Valley!We offer a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and 401K.Department: Machine ShopPosition Summary: Operates automatic nut formers that have 5 forming dies and are equipped with automatic feeding mechanisms to precisely sheared to length and progressively form metal wire into dies and special nut products.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Set up and operate nut forming machines.Adjust specific tooling and transfer fingers at each station.Start machine, observes the operation and inspects first run and sample workpiece to ensure machine conforms to specifications.Inspects parts using micrometers, gauges, and other measuring tools, to ensure compliance with specification.Reads blueprint or job order for product specification such as dimensions, tolerance, number or parts to be formed and tooling instruction on type tooling required.Performs record keeping, data entry, housekeeping and following safety regulations.Suggest process improvement ideas.Evaluate and communicate machine condition or concerns to both maintenance and supervision.Education and/or Experience:Working experience in a fastener manufacturing environment. ·Experience working with high nickel alloys (A286, Wapaloy, Inconel)Experience working with multi station National nut forming machines.Working knowledge of nut forming machinery and procedures.Ability to inspect parts with variety of inspections instruments. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Position Requirements: This is a full-time position requiring an 8-hour shift, Monday through Friday. Overtime may be required depending on production needs.
