Job summary

KinderCare Learning Companies is hiring a Cook to prepare healthy meals for children at our centers. You will follow menus, assist with ordering supplies, and ensure safe, hygienic kitchen operations while supporting center staff to meet enrollment and care goals.

Ideal candidates have a love for kids, a Food Handler’s License or willingness to obtain one, and experience in institutional cooking. You’ll work in a collaborative environment that values safety, nutrition, and excellent service.

Qualifications

• A love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every day.
• Food Handler’s License or willingness to obtain.
• At least one year of institutional cooking experience.
• Two or more years working with children (desirable).
• Basic math skills for measuring and portions.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for long periods.
• Read, write, and speak English to communicate with children and parents.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and related equipment safely and hygienically.
• Order food and supplies according to menus.
• Dispense and store medication as requested in centers.
• Document daily kitchen activities per regulations.
• Assist with other center duties as needed to support operations.
• Collaborate with staff to achieve enrollment, accreditation, and engagement goals.
