Job summary

KinderCare Learning Companies is hiring a Cook to prepare healthy meals and snacks for children in our centers, following menus developed by our in-house nutritionist to ensure kids have the fuel to learn and grow.

You’ll maintain kitchen safety, order supplies, document requirements, and support center goals around enrollment, accreditation, and engagement while collaborating with staff and leadership. A Food Handler’s License or willingness to obtain one is required.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Food Handler’s License or be willing to obtain one.
• At least 1 year of institutional cooking experience is preferred.
• Two or more years of experience working with children is highly desirable.
• Read, write, understand, and speak English to communicate with children and parents.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and related equipment safely and hygienically.
• Order food and supplies.
• Dispense and store medication as requested.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation according to KinderCare and licensing requirements.
• Help with and take on other daily center duties as needed.
• Support center success by partnering with staff to achieve enrollment, accreditation, and engagement goals.
