Job summary

Rainbow Child Care Center & Preschool in Roseland, NJ is seeking a warm, nurturing Infant Caregiver/Assistant Teacher to join our dedicated team. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to support early development and provide attentive daily care for our youngest learners.

Work with lead teachers to implement age-appropriate activities and monitor infant milestones. Maintain a safe, clean classroom, communicate clearly with parents, and follow licensing regulations.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in infant care or childcare preferred.
• Knowledge of infant developmental milestones and best practices in early childhood.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to meet NJ childcare licensing requirements including background checks.
• Patient, compassionate, and dependable with a genuine love for working with infants.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, loving daily care for infants including feeding, diapering, and soothing.
• Support lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate developmental activities and lesson plans.
• Monitor and document infant milestones, behaviors, and daily routines.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating classroom environment.
• Communicate openly and professionally with parents and guardians during drop-off and pick-up.
• Follow all childcare health, safety, and licensing regulations and protocols.
• Foster social-emotional development through responsive, relationship-based caregiving.
