Job summary

Child Care Associates is seeking a Teacher Assistant to support classroom teachers and staff in creating a safe, nurturing learning environment for young children. The role involves preparing materials, assisting with meals and routines, and maintaining clean, organized spaces with a strong emphasis on safety and development.

The ideal candidate has at least six months of childcare experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a plan to obtain an age-appropriate CDA within one year.

Qualifications

• Minimum six months of childcare experience.
• Strong understanding of human behavior and effective communication skills.
• Able to build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
• Warm, calm, and patient approach with infants.
• Reliable, insured vehicle for transportation.
• Must pass pre-employment physical, annual TB test, and biennial background check.

Responsibilities

• Support campus staff and assist in assigned classrooms as needed.
• Guide children in activities that support physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development under teacher supervision.
• Respond to individual developmental needs of infants and toddlers.
• Actively supervise children indoors and on the playground.
• Help prepare materials and adapt the physical environment as needed.
• Monitor children to ensure safety at all times.
• Maintain positive communication with children and families.
• Assist with meals, diapering/toileting, hygiene, rest, and play routines.
• Keep classroom areas clean, organized, and sanitary, including light cleaning tasks.
• Complete 20 hours of annual training and attend required staff development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
