Job summary

Child Care Associates in Arlington, TX seeks a Teacher Assistant to support classroom teachers and campus staff in creating a safe, nurturing learning environment for young children.

Under supervision, you prepare materials, maintain a clean, organized classroom, assist with meals, diapering, hygiene, rest and play, and communicate with families to support development and well-being. A CDA within one year and a high school diploma are required.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must obtain an age-appropriate CDA within one year (related degrees may substitute).
• Minimum six months of childcare experience.
• Reliable, insured vehicle for transportation.
• Must pass pre-employment physical, annual TB test, and biennial background check.

Responsibilities

• Support campus staff and assist in assigned classrooms as needed.
• Guide children in activities that support physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development under teacher supervision.
• Respond to individual developmental needs of infants and toddlers.
• Actively supervise children indoors and on the playground.
• Help prepare materials and adapt the physical environment as needed.
• Monitor children to ensure safety at all times.
• Maintain positive communication with children and families.
• Assist with meals, diapering/toileting, hygiene, rest, and play routines.
• Keep classroom areas clean, organized, and sanitary, including light cleaning tasks.
• Complete 20 hours of annual training and attend required staff development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
