Job summary

Advocate Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for Aurora Psychiatric Hospital – Administration: Nursing. The role is full-time, 36 hours per week, with shift details including Tue/Wed/Thu 19:00–07:30 and holiday rotation.

The position requires an RN license in the practicing state, a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, and typically 3 years of clinical nursing experience. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential to support patient care and safety.

Qualifications

• RN license issued by the state where practice.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Typically requires 3 years of experience in clinical nursing with demonstrated clinical expertise.

Responsibilities

• Participates, observes and/or acts as a resource to staff for patient related clinical problems.
• Participates, observes and/or acts as a resource to staff for patient related service problems.
• Initiates investigation of patient incidents and medication errors, ensures proper documentation and a corrective action plan is in place.
• Participates, observes and acts as a resource for staff regarding patient related systems problems.
• Identify trends in system problems and notifies the manager of the unit of the issue.
• Assists with patient admission, transfer and discharge to facilitate timely process throughout the system.
• Responds to internal and external public relations issues, maintaining guest relations rapport with staff, public and media.
• Ensures compliance with standards and requirements of regulatory agencies.
• Intervenes during the absence of the Safety Officer and/or Patient Safety Officer as needed.
• Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties, with lifting and pushing/pulling as required.
• Provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served and assess age-specific needs.
