Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Rio Rancho, NM is seeking a Unit Secretary/Nursing Tech for the Progressive Care Unit 4. This role supports nursing staff by performing secretarial and clerical duties and acting as a communication hub for the unit.

You will assist with patient monitoring, basic clinical tasks under supervision, document patient information in the EMR, and help with admissions, discharges and daily unit operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Preferred: specialized training in basic patient care or 6 months in direct patient care.
• On‑the‑job training and competency verification provided.
• Current BLS and emergency response training certifications maintained.

Responsibilities

• Greets and directs customers; promotes unit communication.
• Answers phones and routes information appropriately.
• Monitors patients and documents vitals and actions in the EMR.
• Performs basic clerical duties and patient care tasks as directed by nursing staff.
• Assists with oxygen administration and sterile procedures under supervision.
• Stocking, cleaning, and preparation of patient rooms and equipment.
• Coordinates equipment and supply systems for unit operations.
