Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Michigan is seeking a Nursing Unit Manager to oversee daily operations of the assigned unit, ensure high-quality patient care, and manage staff development, budgets, and regulatory compliance.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, coordinate with physicians and ancillary services, and advance patient satisfaction while maintaining safety standards and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing with a minimum of 3 years nursing-related experience.
• OR associate’s degree with 5 years of nursing-related experience.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse to practice nursing in Michigan.

Responsibilities

• Maintains operational responsibility for nursing and health care services on the unit.
• Promotes positive customer relations with physicians, patients, families, visitors and employees.
• Promotes collaboration regarding patient care issues with various staff levels and disciplines.
• Ensures staff participation in orientation, mandatory and continuing education programs and other staff development opportunities.
• Plans unit conferences, educational endeavors, and in-service meetings for staff.
• Ensures quality and appropriateness of care is maintained/monitored and relevant action plans are developed and implemented.
• Assists with implementation, maintenance and monitoring of capital needs and operating budgets for patient care services area.
