Job summary

Fairview Health Services in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a Nursing Station Technician to support the Adult CV ICU team. The NST assists caregivers, transports patients and equipment, maintains patient rooms, and coordinates communications on the unit.

This 0.75 FTE daytime role includes 12-hour shifts 7am–7:30pm with a third weekend rotation. The NST works under the supervision of a professional nurse and prepares charts, routes orders, and helps with clerical tasks to keep the unit running

Qualifications

• Six months of hands-on patient care experience (acute, long-term, or home care).
• Enrolled in an LPN, RN, or NP program (with at least 1 completed clinical semester).
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) on the MN Registry.
• Completed Fairview's OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates timely flow of communication on the patient care area to ensure coordination of services.
• Promptly answers the telephone identifying self and patient care area, asks questions to clarify information, and follows through on messages.
• Coordinates activities of the desk area for prompt, accurate handling of communication and relays patient requests.
• Coordinates scheduling of tests, lab work, and other procedures; arranges transport and assists with transport; uses EHR.
