Job summary

UF Health in Gainesville seeks a Unit Assistant to provide administrative support to a designated nursing unit and assist the Nurse Manager with data collection to drive unit outcomes in quality, service, growth, staff and finances.

You will support attending staff with timekeeping, scheduling, inventory, new employee processing, and project development, while ensuring regulatory compliance and safeguarding confidential information in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; AA degree preferred.
• Experience with computer skills and Office Suite including Word and Excel.
• Excellent interpersonal, conflict management and negotiation skills required; project management preferred.
• Must function with minimum supervision and exercise sound independent judgment.
• Must work in a team environment with diverse personalities and handle confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to a designated nursing unit.
• Assist Nurse Manager with data collection to support unit outcomes in quality, service, growth, staff and finances.
• Support unit processes: time and attendance, schedules, inventory, filing, new employee processing, and project development.
• Enhance the unit environment while maintaining regulatory requirements and addressing unit issues as assigned.
• Assist in implementing and overseeing support tech initiatives and monitor the tech role.
