Job summary

Gengras Center in West Hartford, CT seeks a Professional Tutor (Nursing) to support nursing students in group tutoring sessions and one-on-one appointments. Tutors help students connect ideas to real-life experiences and apply knowledge to problems across pediatric, childbearing, community health, and complex health topics.

The role requires strong academic skills, a bachelor's degree or higher, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Must have earned Bachelor’s degree or higher with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Strong academic skills and solid content knowledge.
• Excellent oral and written communication with students, faculty and colleagues.
• Demonstrates professionalism, leadership, problem solving and collaboration.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships with students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Support students in group tutoring sessions and 1-1 appointments.
• Guide students in understanding course resources and applying concepts to problems.
• Assist with course-specific topics: NURS 326, NURS 328, NURS 406, NURS 417.
