Job summary

State of Connecticut - Department of Children and Families is seeking a Supervising Nurse to oversee direct care staffing for units at Solnit South Campus in Middletown, CT. You will ensure staffing ratios meet policy, health standards and legal requirements.

The role requires leadership in nursing operations, coordination with multiple teams, and readiness to respond to medical or psychiatric emergencies. This is a full-time, first-shift role based in Middletown with a flexible schedule to meet

Qualifications

Four (4) years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital, regional, institutional or psychiatric setting.
A Bachelor’s degree in nursing may be substituted for one (1) year of the General Experience.
A Master’s degree in nursing may be substituted for one (1) additional year of the General Experience.
Experience working in hospital, regional, institutional, or psychiatric settings preferred.

Responsibilities

Plans, organizes and directs health services for an assigned program, unit(s), facility or geographical area.
Provides clinical guidance to nursing staff and monitors care quality.
Oversees staffing ratios to ensure safety and compliance with agency policies and laws.
Supervises nursing staff, conducts evaluations and develops quality initiatives.
Responds to psychiatric or medical emergencies and coordinates coverage.
