Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
  • Current Colorado nursing license in good standing.
  • Minimum of one year OR experience.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS current within six months of hire.
  • At least two years in perioperative care unit.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily operations of Preop and PACU.
  • Lead, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff.
  • Oversee patient assessments (vital signs, evaluations, documentation).
  • Coordinate with surgical teams and anesthesiologists for procedures and recovery.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, state laws, and NCQA standards.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced PAT(Pre Admission Testing)/Preoperative/Pacu (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) Supervisor to lead and coordinate patient care activities within the PAT, preoperative and PACU settings. This vital role involves supervising clinical staff, ensuring adherence to hospital policies, and maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and comfort. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive clinical expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced healthcare environment. As a key team leader, you will facilitate seamless communication across departments, oversee patient assessments, and ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations.

Essential Functions

  • Supervise daily operations of the Preop and PACU departments, ensuring efficient patient flow and optimal resource utilization
  • Lead, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff, fostering a collaborative team environment focused on high-quality care
  • Oversee patient assessments including vital signs, physiological evaluations, and medical documentation to ensure accurate and timely care delivery
  • Coordinate with surgical teams, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to prepare patients for procedures and facilitate smooth recovery processes
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, HIPAA regulations, state healthcare laws, and accreditation standards such as NCQA standards
  • Support staff and patients through the perioperative process. Provide care to patients if needed.
  • Conduct ongoing quality assurance activities including incident reporting, infection control practices, and adherence to nursing policy compliance
  • Manage and coordinate the PAT process, ensuring thorough assessments and necessary tests are conducted to facilitate the admission process.

Education and Experience

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program, BSN preferred.
  • Current Colorado nursing license, in good standing with the State licensing board
  • Minimum of one (1) year OR experience
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS required within six (6) months of hire or transfer
  • At least two years' of experience as a nurse in a perioperative care unit.
