Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Nursing Supervisor (RN) to lead complex patient care operations and ensure continuity of care. The role coordinates staffing, resources, and emergency response while addressing patient and environmental concerns across the facility.

The incumbent will assume accountability for staffing, operations, and resource allocation during weekends, holidays, and after-hours tours, ensuring high-quality nursing leadership and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Proficient in English (written and spoken) for direct patient care.
• Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid US state license.
• Graduate from an approved nursing program (ACEN/CCNE) or bridge programs with licensure.
• Foreign nursing graduates must have valid registration to practice nursing in the US.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for safe, efficient patient care across the facility.
• Coordinate staffing, resources, and emergency response.
• Ensure continuity of care, access to services, and effective discharge planning.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using nursing process and clinical judgment.
• Lead and mentor staff; participate in staffing and resource allocation, including after-hours.
