Job summary

The George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC, a 395-bed tertiary academic medical center, seeks a Clinical Supervisor for Labor & Delivery. The role oversees clinical practice, staffing, patient flow, safety, and resource use in daily operations, while ensuring compassionate, competent care across the age range.

We value BSN-qualified nurses with leadership experience, and encourage certification in specialty areas.

Qualifications

• BSN required. 1 year charge nurse experience preferred.
• 2 years clinical nursing experience preferred.
• Certification in specialty preferred.
• Unit specific certifications (PALS, ACLS, TNCC, NRP, chemotherapy) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides shift to shift oversight for clinical practice, staffing, patient flow, safety, service, and utilization of resources for daily operations.
• Maintains the environment of care and ensures high-quality patient care.
• Role models organizational values and provides real-time feedback to staff.
• Leads or participates in department process improvement projects.
