Qualifications

• Licensure as Registered Nurse in RI or eligible under Nurse Licensure Compact.
• Graduate of a nursing program with current RI RN license.
• Maintain SafetyCare and AHA BLS certifications.
• Three to five years of acute psychiatric nursing experience.
• Two years hospital supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and support a culture of safety across the shift, focusing on staffing, communication and preventing adverse outcomes.
• Support the hospital-wide patient safety program on all units.
• Rounds on all units during the shift; obtain reports from charge RNs at start and end.
• Act as a code team member and lead as necessary.
• Ensure adequate nursing/milieu staffing and act as first-line nursing administrator during evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Coordinate admissions and serve as off-hours liaison for Pharmacy, Lab and Medical Supply.
