Job summary

Aspirus Iron River Hospital in Iron River, MI is seeking a Nursing Supervisor to join our leadership team. You will help coordinate, lead and develop personnel and operations across Med Surg, ER and Outpatient services, ensuring high-quality patient care and smooth daily operations.

Under the direction of a Manager or Director, you will assume leadership in their absence and support scheduling, staff development and crisis management.

Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license required.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication and collaborative relationships.
• Current BLS certification (or within 90 days of hire).
• ACLS may be required; crisis management and conflict resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and lead personnel and operations in Med Surg, ER, and Outpatient.
• Provide leadership in the manager/director's absence.
• Support scheduling and workforce planning to balance workloads.

Aspirus Iron River Hospital in Iron River, MI is seeking a Nursing Supervisor to join our leadership team!

The Nursing Supervisor is a professional Registered Nurse who, under the direction of a Manager or Director, assists with daily responsibility for the coordination, leadership and the development of personnel and operations in the Med Surg, ER and Outpatient departments. Assumes leadership responsibility in the manager or director's absence.

Experience/Qualifications

• Knowledge of patient care standards and practices normally acquired through completion of a nursing program.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
• This position requires previous demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills, and a work record of collaborative working relationships.
• Possesses an active Michigan RN nursing license.
• Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire - All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) training through independent study, online manikin and knowledge testing. An acceptable training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED. (See Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Training Policy).
• Additional department specific competencies or certifications may be required (i.e ACLS).
• Must have strong crisis management and conflict resolution skills.
• Computer experience: Fluent in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Hours:

Full-time / 1.0 FTE. Mainly day shifts, occasional night shift or weekend as needed. Schedule can be flexible depending on your preferences to accommodate your work-life balance!

Aspirus Iron River Hospital & Clinics

is one of three hospitals in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in the Aspirus family.

With 300+ employees, Aspirus Iron River Hospital and Clinics serves people through a 25-bed hospital, physician clinics, dialysis center, rehab fitness center, ambulance service, and home care and hospice. The outpatient part of this practice is located in a stand-alone clinic. This allows the provider to work independently yet have the specialist support and financial security from the entire Aspirus health care system. The critical access hospital has an average daily census of 9-10 patients.

The hospital and clinics provide numerous services and has up to date technology, including 64 slice CT and a mobile MRI. The medical staff includes family practitioners, internal medicine, general surgeons, orthopedic surgeons, radiologist, emergency medicine physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants. Visiting medical staff includes ophthalmologist, oncologist, cardiologist, ENT, podiatrist, and nephrologist.
