Job summary

Aspirus Iron River Hospital in Iron River, MI is seeking nursing students to join our team. This 10-week paid Internship provides hands-on experience under direct supervision of an experienced RN, with potential for up to a full-time .9FTE role.

Dates vary by cohort (Summer, Fall, Spring) and acceptance depends on pre-employment checks and coursework prerequisites. Applicants should be BSN or ADN students with nursing experience and pharmacology coursework.

Qualifications

• Students who have completed the equivalent of 3 years in a BSN program and/or completed 2 semesters of an ADN program, plus completed student nurse experience in a clinical setting at a minimum of 12 hours and completed a pharmacology course.

Aspirus Health begins Registered Nurse Internships three times throughout the calendar year at ALL Aspirus hospital locations in northeastern Minnesota, northern and central Wisconsin and the Upper peninsula of Michigan.

Nurse Intern Program

Aspirus is excited to invite student nurses to apply and gain hands‑on experience by working one‑on‑one with an experienced nurse during the 10-week programs.

DATES:

Summer Cohort - Starts in June - Deadline to apply is the second week of May

Fall Cohort - Starts in August - Deadline to apply is the last week of July

Spring Cohort - Starts in December- Deadline to apply is the last week of November

WHO QUALIFIES:

Aspirus Iron River Hospital & Clinics

is one of three hospitals in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in the Aspirus family.

With 300+ employees, Aspirus Iron River Hospital and Clinics serves people through a 25-bed hospital, physician clinics, dialysis center, rehab fitness center, ambulance service, and home care and hospice. The outpatient part of this practice is located in a stand-alone clinic. This allows the provider to work independently yet have the specialist support and financial security from the entire Aspirus health care system. The critical access hospital has an average daily census of 9-10 patients.

The hospital and clinics provide numerous services and has up to date technology, including 64 slice CT and a mobile MRI. The medical staff includes family practitioners, internal medicine, general surgeons, orthopedic surgeons, radiologist, emergency medicine physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants. Visiting medical staff includes ophthalmologist, oncologist, cardiologist, ENT, podiatrist, and nephrologist.
