Job summary

UMMC in Jackson, MS is seeking an RN to serve as Nursing Student Navigator within the School of Nursing. You will identify barriers to student success, advise students, coordinate learning supports, and collaborate with faculty to improve retention and outcomes.

You will plan educational offerings, provide remediation and skills practice, monitor at-risk students, and connect learners with academic accommodations and counseling referrals, ensuring a supportive, high-quality learning environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing and valid RN license required.
• Two years of RN practice recommended or required.
• Ability to coordinate education, tutoring and accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Identifies barriers to academic success and determines learning styles.
• Identifies resources to enhance the student learning experience.
• Plans, coordinates, and provides educational offerings and skills practice.
• Collaborates with faculty to track at-risk students and address barriers.
• Works with faculty in classroom, simulation lab, and skills lab settings.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of best practices to promote student success.
• Monitors and evaluates processes to improve retention and outcomes.
