Job summary

Northwest Hospital, part of LifeBridge Health, operates an Emergency Department in Baltimore County serving Randallstown and surrounding communities. The ED handles major and minor illnesses with a 55-bed capacity, including cardiac, stroke, behavioral health cases, and minor orthopedic injuries.

A rapid care area exists for minor illnesses. Staff require outgoing personalities and strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status and apply nursing interventions.

Qualifications

• Required: Less than one year of experience.
• High School / GED required.
• Licensures & Certifications: Basic Life Support; Current Maryland CNA certification (CNA-I or CNA-II).

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, age-appropriate patient care under the direction of the RN.
• Demonstrate strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status and implement nursing interventions.

Job description

The Emergency Department at Northwest Hospital currently sees over 49,000 patients per year and has 55 beds. The Emergency Department treats major and minor illnesses, typically related to cardiac, stroke and behavioral health. Additionally, staff may provide care for orthopedic injuries or minor trauma. Our rapid care area is designated for minor illnesses. Staff members are outgoing and positive and must utilize strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status and be able to effectively implement clinical nursing interventions to modify symptoms.

Summary

Under the direction of the RN provides safe, age-appropriate patient care. Unified by the core purpose of creating a healthier community one person at a time, the members of the Division of Patient Care Services commit themselves to sustaining a culture where students care bravely as they focus on achieving optimal patient outcomes.
