Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a part-time nursing student who has completed at least one medical/surgical rotation and is pending licensure. The role supports transition into a new graduate nurse resident position as available, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

These roles require BLS-HCP certification at hire or within 60 days, and include tasks across patient care, education, and coordination with the care team in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Student in good standing in an accredited School of Nursing program with at least one medical/surgical rotation.
• BLS-HCP certification required on hire or within 60 days with approval.

Responsibilities

• Responds to patient care needs by answering call lights, assisting with hygiene and nourishment, obtaining vitals, and communicating with the care team.
• Assists with Foley catheter and nasogastric tube insertions, care, and removal.
• Checks and documents patient vitals, glucose, inputs/outputs with RN signature.
• Performs secondary assessments to augment RN assessments.
• Educates patients and families about disease, meds, and plan of care.
• Assists nurses and physicians within scope and competency.
• Adheres to infection prevention standards and supports patient experience goals.
• Assists with transfers, admissions, and discharges per safe patient handling.
