Job summary

Intermountain Health’s Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver, CO is seeking a nursing student who has completed at least one medical/surgical rotation and is pending licensure. The role supports the transition into a new graduate nurse resident track as licensure is achieved, under RN supervision.

You'll respond to patient needs, assist with basic care, vitals, education, and documentation, and participate in safe patient handling and transfers as directed. This is an on-site position in Denver, CO.

Qualifications

• Completed a minimum of one medical/surgical rotation in an accredited nursing program.
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) Certification upon hire or obtained within 60 days of hire with prior approval.
• Currently pursuing nursing licensure with intent to obtain licensure as soon as possible.

Responsibilities

• Responds to patient care needs by answering call lights and assisting with hygiene, nourishment, and vitals.
• Assists with Foley catheter and nasogastric tube insertions, care, and removal.
• Documents patient vitals, glucose, inputs/outputs, and notes under RN supervision.
• Performs secondary assessments and supports patient and family education.
• Assists nurses and physicians within scope and competency.
• Adheres to infection prevention standards and supports patient experience goals.
• Assists with transfers, admissions, and discharges per safe patient handling principles.
