Fairview Masonic Children’s University Hospital in Minneapolis seeks a Nursing Station Technician to support pediatric care across units. The hybrid role combines Nursing Assistant duties with Health Unit Coordination to deliver direct patient care and essential administrative tasks, under nurse supervision.

The position offers a 0.75 FTE schedule (60 hours every two weeks) on day shifts, with 12-hour shifts and every third weekend.

Formación

• BLS certification required.
• Fairview OnTrack Nursing Assistant training or equivalent Fairview-sponsored Nursing Assistant program required.
• Six months of direct care experience in long-term care, home care, or acute care settings.
• Current enrollment in an LPN/RN program or completion of one semester of clinical rotation.
• Current Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry certification upon hire (not required to maintain after transfer).

Responsabilidades

• Provide patient care such as personal hygiene, vitals, daily activities, repositioning, transporting, and feeding.
• Maintain unit desk area functions: answer phones, process admissions, discharges and transfers, transcribe orders, assemble patient charts and order tests.
• Set up and maintain patient rooms.
• Order and stock supplies.
• Perform EKGs and Holter monitor placement as needed across units.

Schedule

This position will be working at 0.75 FTE (60 hours every two weeks) on the DAY shift, 12-hour shifts and every third weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday).

Compensation

The starting base rate of pay for the Nursing Station Technician is $24.16 Candidates with experience may be brought in at a higher rate of pay.

$24.16- $30.76 Hourly

The Nursing Station Technician floats to all areas of the pediatric hospital including critical care, transplant, oncology, and cardiology.

Role Description

This is a hybrid position consisting of both Nursing Assistant and Health Unit Coordinator roles to deliver direct patient care and administrative duties. In this role, you will work under the direct supervision of a professional nurse to demonstrate excellent customer service, collaboration and communication skills with patients, families, and the healthcare team. Other job duties include:

• Patient care such as personal hygiene, vitals, daily activities, repositioning, transporting, and feeding


• Maintaining unit desk area functions such as answering phones, processing admissions, discharging and transferring forms, transcribing orders, assembling patient charts and ordering tests


• Setting up and maintaining patient rooms


• Ordering and stocking of supplies


• Functions in the role of a \"flyer\" and performs the EKGs along with holter monitor placement and responds to the needs of individual units

Required

License/Certification/Registration

• Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required. Ontrack participants are required to obtain Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification upon completion of the OnTrack program.

AND ONE or more of the following:

• Successful completion of Fairview’s OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview sponsored Nursing Assistant program.


• Six months of recent direct care experience in a long term, home care or acute care setting. (Appropriate roles may include, Nursing Assistant, PCA, Resident Assistant or Emergency Room Technician).


• Current enrollment in an LPN, RN or Nurse Practitioner program, and completion of one (1) semester of clinical rotation within the program.


• Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire. This requirement does not need to be maintained throughout employment and is not required if subsequently transferring into another Nursing Assistant or Nursing Station Tech or Nursing Station Attendant position.
