Job Overview

M Health Fairview is looking for a Nursing Station Technician at St. John’s Hospital in Maplewood, MN. This position is 60 hours per two weeks on the NIGHT shift, for 12-hour shifts, every third weekend, variable schedule and is eligible for benefits such as PTO, dental/medical insurance, and more.

The starting base rate of pay for the Nursing Station Technician is $23.40. Candidates with experience may be hired at a higher rate of pay.

About this Unit:

Looking for an opportunity to gain experience on multiple units? Our Float Pool team is an excellent option! During orientation, you will be based in Medical Surgical units and will float to each unit with a preceptor. Your overall orientation time, as well as unit-specific orientation, will be determined by your level of experience.

In this role, you will work under the direct supervision of a professional nurse, demonstrating excellent customer service, teamwork, and communication skills with patients, families, and the healthcare team in a fast-paced environment. Job duties include:

• Patient care such as personal hygiene, vitals, daily activities, repositioning, transporting, and feeding
• Setting up and maintaining patient rooms
• Ordering and stocking supplies
• Answering telephone calls as able

Minimum Requirements:

License/Certification/Registration:

• Successful completion of Fairview’s OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview-sponsored Nursing Assistant program

Or:

• Six months of recent direct care experience in a long-term, home care, or acute care setting (e.g., Nursing Assistant, PCA, Resident Assistant, or Emergency Room Technician)
• Preferably, 6 months of acute care/med-surg experience

Or:

• Current enrollment in an LPN, RN, or Nurse Practitioner program, with at least one semester of clinical rotation completed

Or:

• Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire (not required to be maintained throughout employment unless transferring to another Nursing Assistant or related position)

Additionally,:

• Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification is required. OnTrack participants must obtain BLS certification upon completing the program.
