Fairview Health Services is seeking a Nursing Station Technician for the Med/Surg Neurology Unit at St. John’s Hospital in Maplewood, MN.

The role supports patient care, coordinates unit communications, and ensures efficient patient flow on a busy neuroscience-focused unit. The NST works under the supervision of licensed staff, performs clerical duties, utilizes the EHR system, and participates in a variety of patient care tasks to support timely care delivery.

Qualifications

• Current Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry certification at hire.
• Enrolled in RN program with at least one semester of clinical rotation.
• BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross).

Responsibilities

• Assist professional caregiver in delivering patient care.
• Transport patients and equipment as needed.
• Set up and maintain patient rooms and restock supplies.
• Maintain desk area functions and unit communications.
• Coordinate scheduling of tests and transports; assist with transport.
• Use EHR effectively and document carefully.
• Transcribe physician orders under RN/MD direction.
• Ensure patient privacy and safety and assist with admissions/discharges.
