Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College, Sellersburg, is seeking an SIM Technician to manage and maintain simulation equipment used in nursing education. You will support faculty and students, operate simulation consoles and A/V gear, and ensure a realistic, safe learning environment.

The role involves preassembly of props and materials, and collaboration with educators. Pay is $20.00 per hour with day shifts, weekdays.

Qualifications

• Experience in a clinical healthcare setting, healthcare simulation, or information technology is highly desirable.
• Ability to work with various and changing technology.
• Self-directed with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Technical skills in operating and troubleshooting complex equipment and software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators and students.

Responsibilities

• Support daily operations of clinical simulation lab.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during simulations.
• Assure facility and equipment are organized and prepared for teaching sessions by preassembly of props, moulage, learning materials, and documentation.
• Operate simulation console and software, audio/visual equipment, debriefing equipment, and human patient simulator.
• Assist faculty in monitoring students’ safety.
• Provide theatrical support including moulage and voice over.
• Provide feedback for improving simulation experience.
• Maintain a clean and safe simulation lab to promote an optimal learning environment.
• Conduct routine equipment maintenance.
• Salvage re-usable supplies and repackage.
• Monitor and maintain organization of supply stock.
