Job summary

University of Kansas Medical Center’s School of Nursing is seeking a Simulation Technology Specialist I (Part-Time) to support the Simulation Program on campus in Kansas City. The role operates, maintains, and troubleshoots high-fidelity manikins, task trainers, and AV systems, collaborating with faculty and students to deliver realistic simulation experiences.

The position supports continuous quality improvement in simulation education and requires 4 years of AV systems experience and 1 year

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of experience with audiovisual systems and computer networking.
• One (1) year of experience with healthcare simulation equipment.
• Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare or technical discipline preferred.
• Experience with simulation platforms and moulage techniques is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot simulation equipment including manikins, task trainers, and AV systems.
• Set up and reset simulation environments to reflect clinical scenarios with props and moulage.
• Provide technical support before, during, and after simulation sessions.
• Record, edit, and manage audiovisual content using platforms such as SimCapture and other AV systems.
• Collaborate with faculty to design and implement technical components of simulation scenarios.
• Train faculty, staff, and students on equipment and AV systems.
