Job summary

Palmer Theological Seminary of Eastern University seeks a Nursing Simulation Lab Assistant to support student skills practice and simulation experiences. The role oversees lab activities under indirect supervision, coordinating with the Associate Dean of Nursing, Sim Ed, and Clinical Liaison.

You will prepare labs, assist with simulations, maintain records, and ensure safety standards. Strong communication with faculty and students is essential, with physical tasks involving equipment as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
• Current Pennsylvania RN licensure with 2 years clinical experience.
• Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator® (CHSE®) or Operations Specialist® (CHSOS®) (will train if needed).
• Proficient with computer technology and basic office software (MSWord, Excel).
• Ability to communicate effectively with faculty and students.
• Active job; may be required to handle moderately heavy equipment and/or mannequins.

Responsibilities

• Assist with facilitation of simulation and lab activities according to course objectives.
• Assist faculty in development and delivery of lab simulations and exercises to demonstrate patient care and related skills.
• Assist with in-house training and support for simulation development and faculty proficiency targets.
• Prepare lab setting for student skills validation activities in collaboration with course faculty.
• Maintain student records and pre/post sim data.
• Provide individual assistance to students in an open lab.
• Maintain a clean, orderly lab environment.
• Set up equipment and supplies for labs taught by faculty; manage inventory and storage.
• Coordinate lab schedules and special events (e.g., ceremonies, workshops).
• Liaise with the EU visit coordinator for prospective student visits.
