Job summary

Assumption University in Worcester, MA seeks a Simulation Technician to support the Froelich School of Nursing's skills lab and high-fidelity simulations. You will prepare, operate, and maintain simulators and related tech, program physiological responses, and troubleshoot issues for faculty and students.

Responsibilities include lab scheduling, data collection, and staff training on equipment usage, ensuring safe, realistic learning experiences for nursing students before real-patient care.

Qualifications

• Expertise in operating and maintaining sophisticated simulation equipment (mannequins, trainers, audiovisual systems).
• Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues with equipment and software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication to collaborate with faculty, students, and staff.
• Meticulous in record-keeping, maintaining equipment, and preparing supplies.

Responsibilities

• Equipment set-up and maintenance for patient simulators, task trainers, and multimedia equipment.
• Scenario development and operation: program simulator software for physiological responses; use moulage and props to create realistic learning environments.
• Provide technical support to faculty and students; troubleshoot malfunctions and advise on best practices.
• Laboratory management: assist with lab schedules, equipment/inventory, and purchasing decisions for new gear.
• Data management: collect and maintain data from simulation activities for analysis and research.
• Training and orientation: assist with tours and trainings on simulation equipment usage.
