Job summary

Brown University Health seeks a nursing supervisor responsible for supervision, staffing, and scheduling of all Nursing and Behavioral Health staff during the shift. You will act as first-line administrator in consultation with the Nursing Administrator on Call and D.O.C.

as needed, providing clinical support for decision making as well as direct patient care. Ensures that policies and procedures are observed.

Qualifications

• Licensed registered nurse with current RI licensure or license by Nurse Licensure Compact.
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills to care for patients across aging, development and culture.
• Maintain SafetyCare and AHA BLS certification and Lead RN training.

Responsibilities

• Create and support a culture of safety with staffing, communication and prevention of adverse outcomes.
• Support hospital-wide patient safety program in all areas.
• Rounds on all units, obtain reports from charge RNs at start and end of shift.
• Serve on the code team and lead as necessary.
• Ensure adequate staffing and facilitate debriefings after incidents.
• Provide clinical support and guidance as needed.
• Act as Incident Commander when warranted.
