Job summary

Themeadows is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing in directing 24/7 nursing services. The role involves supervising licensed and non-licensed staff, improving nursing operations, and upholding resident rights.

The ADON will assist in planning, hiring, training, and evaluating staff, and will act as back-up for DON, RN, and LVN teams. A BSN and active state license are preferred. Long-term care experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an Accredited School of Nursing with a BSN preferred.
• Must be in good standing with the State Board of Nursing and maintain continuing education/licensing.
• 3-5 years of nurse management experience, preferably in long-term care.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; PCC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist DON in planning, developing and supervising nursing staff activities.
• Recruit, hire and train nursing staff; conduct appraisals and resolve issues.
• Oversee clinical operations, daily rounds, and monitor resident conditions to ensure safety.
• Liaise with residents, families and physicians; attend staff meetings or lead them when DON is unavailable.
• Assist in designing, implementing and evaluating nursing systems to ensure quality care and resident rights.
