Job summary

Woodhull Medical and Mental Health Center in New York, NY, seeks an experienced Nursing Administrator to plan, organize, direct, and evaluate nursing services and education programs across hospital units. Reporting to the Associate Director of Nursing, you will develop policies, oversee budgets, and coordinate patient care with emphasis on quality assurance and staff development.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing Administration or related field; 3 years of nursing experience including 1 year in admin/supervisory capacity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with 4 years of nursing experience, 2 years in clinical supervisory roles.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) may be required and must be obtained within 60 days if assigned.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing policies, objectives and standards of nursing service and education.
• Assist in preparing budgets for personnel, supplies and equipment.
• Develop administrative procedures and programs for patient care.
• Plan, direct, coordinate and evaluate nursing service in major divisions or home health settings.
• Lead nursing education programs and supervise evening/night tours as assigned.
• Prepare reports on staff and patient management and participate in quality assurance activities.
• Attend and chair regular nursing staff meetings and assess nursing services by rounds and chart reviews.
