Job summary

Hartford HealthCare is seeking a Nursing Professional Development Practitioner (RN) to support competency and education in the NICU. The role focuses on onboarding, program development, and evaluation in a dynamic pediatric environment.

The successful candidate will have a BSN, be enrolled in a Master’s program with completion within two years, and provide teaching and leadership to advance clinical education and practice standards within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Qualifications

• BSN required and enrolled in a Master’s program with degree completion within two years of hire date.
• Minimum of 3 years of active clinical nursing experience.
• At least 1 year of experience in an acute care environment.
• One year of relevant teaching experience preferred.

About This Role

The Nursing Professional Development Practitioner (NPD) is a Registered Nurse responsible for influencing professional role competence and growth of learners in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This role collaborates with nursing leadership to support competency management, clinical education, and onboarding of new colleagues.

Requirements

• Education:
  • BSN required and enrolled in a Master's program with degree completion within two years of hire date.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of active clinical nursing experience.

  • One year of relevant teaching experience preferred.
• Licenses & Certifications:
  • Licensed Registered Nurse from the CT DPH obtained prior to hire date.
  • NPD or Clinical Specialty Certification within two years of hire/transfer.
  • BLS required.
