Job summary

The University of Maine School of Nursing invites applications for a full‑time, tenure‑track Associate/Full Professor to lead the DOE grant‑funded PhD program in Nursing and to advance the school's research mission.

The successful candidate will teach graduate and undergraduate nursing courses, recruit and mentor doctoral students, and build partnerships with healthcare organizations while contributing to service across the university.

Qualifications

• Earned PhD in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Active, unrestricted RN license in the State of Maine.
• Record of peer‑reviewed scholarly publications and professional presentations.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and sustain an independent program of research.
• Experience mentoring PhD students through the dissertation process.
• Demonstrated success pursuing or securing internal or external funding.

Responsibilities

• Lead PhD program development and DOE grant alignment.
• Teach graduate and undergraduate nursing courses as assigned.
• Mentor doctoral students and supervise dissertations.
• Disseminate scholarly work through peer‑reviewed publications and conferences.
• Develop partnerships with healthcare organizations and academic institutions.
• Contribute service to the School, University, profession, and public.
