Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health seeks a Nursing Leader to direct professional development, patient care, and resource management for designated units. You will support managers, ensure nursing practice meets the Nurse Practice Act, and drive quality and performance improvements aligned with organizational values.

The role requires a Master's in Nursing (and a Bachelor's) with at least five years of leadership experience in an acute care hospital.

Qualifications

• Master's-level nursing degree required or equivalent.
• Bachelor's in Nursing required.
• Minimum of five years progressively more responsible leadership/management experience in an acute care hospital.
• Current RN license in CT; NE-BC or CNML preferred (must earn within 18 months if not held).
• Change management and lean process knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs provision of professional development, patient care, and management of human and financial resources for assigned units/departments.
• Provides leadership, support, and resources to department managers; ensures nursing practice aligns with Nurse Practice Act and evidence-based practice.
• Interprets and upholds the organization’s vision and values; promotes Patient-Centered Care, Respect, Compassion, Integrity, and Accountability.
• Meets performance expectations and ensures readiness for regulatory/accreditation processes.
• Actively participates in organizational committees and leads quality improvement efforts.
• Ensures accountability for high performance in patient satisfaction and staff development.
