Qualifications

• BSN required.
• PA RN License, or Compact License required.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 3 years of clinical RN practice.

Responsibilities

• Represent hospital and nursing administration on designated shift.
• Communicate nursing/hospital operational problems to the Administrator.
• Coordinate morgue activities and facilitate timely release of deceased persons during shift.
• Respond to Code 99, trauma alerts, and other emergent situations; reassign staff as needed.
• Communicate educational needs of nursing personnel to Nurse Manager/Director.
• Maintain clinical skills and assist as resource for nursing department.
• Coordinate hospital activities during disasters until on-call Administrator arrives.
• Evaluate overtime needs with awareness of fiscal constraints.
• Review staffing worksheets and adjust patient assignments by acuity and skill mix.
• Carry out projects and other assignments as required.
