NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan in East Harlem seeks an experienced Nursing Administration leader to plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services within the hospital. The role focuses on delivering high-quality patient care and coordinating education programs under general supervision of the Associate Director of Nursing.

The position requires a NYS RN license, a Master’s in Nursing Administration (or related field) with several years of nursing and supervisory

Qualifications

Must hold New York State license and current RN registration.
Master’s Degree in Nursing Administration or related nursing discipline with 3 years of nursing experience, 1 year in admin/supervisory capacity.
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing with 4 years of nursing experience, 2 years in a clinical supervisory role.
BLS certification may be required depending on assignment; if required, obtained within 60 days.

Responsibilities

Assists in planning, organizing, directing, coordinating and evaluating nursing services and education programs.
May oversee budgeting for personnel, supplies and equipment.
Develops administrative procedures and programs for patient care.
Plans and directs nursing service in a major division or home health setting and participates in staff selection and follow-up.
Organizes and conducts nursing education programs and chairs regular staff meetings.
Includes rounds, chart reviews and evaluation of patient care for quality assurance.
