Job summary

NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi seeks an experienced nurse leader to plan, organize and evaluate nursing services and education programs. You will manage budgets, develop procedures, and lead nursing education initiatives within the Department of Nursing.

The role requires NYS licensure as a professional nurse, a relevant master's or equivalent, and several years of supervisory or teaching experience to drive quality patient care and staff development.

Qualifications

• Licensed and currently registered to practice as a professional nurse in New York State.
• Education and experience requirements include supervisory or teaching leadership.
• All candidates must be licensed and currently registered to practice in New York State.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, directing, coordinating and evaluating nursing service and education programs.
• Develop policies, objectives and standards of nursing service and education.
• Prepare personnel, supply and equipment budgets.
• Develop administrative procedures and programs of patient care.
• Plan and evaluate nursing service for a major clinical division or home health agency.
• Plan, organize and conduct nursing education programs.
• Supervise evening and night nursing tours as required.
• Direct activities of Supervisor of Nurses and prepare routine reports.
• Participate in quality assurance and regular staff meetings.
• conduct rounds, chart reviews and evaluate patient care to assess nursing services.

Education

Masters Degree in Nursing Administration, Education, Clinical Specialty or equivalent field

Five years of nursing experience with three years in supervisory or teaching capacity

Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing with six years of nursing experience, four in supervisory/teaching
