Job summary

Black River Health Inc. in Wisconsin seeks an experienced OB Registered Nurse to join the Memorial Hospital Campus.

You will provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care, monitor fetal well-being, support families, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, compassionate birth experiences. This full-time night-shift position offers responsibility for labor progression, neonatal assessment, and obstetric emergencies, with weekend/holiday rotation per schedule.

Qualifications

  • ADN required; BSN preferred.
  • Current Wisconsin RN license.
  • BLS certification within 3 months of hire.
  • ACLS certification within 1 year of hire.
  • NRP certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Electronic Fetal Monitor certification with 2 years of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provides individualized patient and family-focused care throughout the patient’s stay.
  • Evaluates patient assessments and responses to interventions.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of RN competencies and medications.
  • Assess labor progression, and manages induction of labor and cervical ripening.
  • Performs fetal heart monitoring, and neonatal assessments.
  • Recognize and manage obstetric medical emergencies.

Black River Health has immediate openings for compassionate, skilled Registered Nurses to join our OB Department — a team known for delivering exceptional, family‑centered care. In this role, you’ll provide comprehensive nursing support, collaborate closely with a dedicated care team, and help ensure every patient experience is safe, dignified, and deeply human. As part of our flexible nursing workforce, you’ll also support other departments as needed to meet patient care demands across the hospital.

This position is located at Black River Memorial Hospital Campus, where your commitment to care becomes part of something bigger.

  • SHIFT: Full-time - Night Shift - 72 hours per pay period with every 3 rd weekend and holiday rotation
  • Provides individualized patient and family-focused care throughout the patient’s stay. Anticipates changes in patient care needs.
  • Evaluates patient assessments and responses to interventions and take appropriate action according to established standards.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge and demonstrates competence with required registered nurse competencies. Has thorough knowledge of the various kinds of medications administered.
  • Assess labor progression, and manages induction of labor and cervical ripening. Performs fetal heart monitoring, and neonatal assessments. Recognize and manages neonatal sepsis.
  • Competently manages obstetric medical emergencies (prolapsed cord, breech delivery, postpartum hemorrhage, precipitous delivery, uterine rupture, placental abruption)

Educational Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • BLS certification required within 3 months of hire
  • ACLS certification within 1 year of hire
  • NRP certification within 6 months of hire
  • Current licensed Wisconsin RN
  • Electronic Fetal monitor Certification with 2 years of hire
  • OB experience preferred
