Job summary

UT Health Quitman is seeking a day shift, full-time Swing Bed Unit Nursing Manager in Quitman, TX to lead a 25-bed Swing Bed program within a 25-bed inpatient unit that provides short-term skilled nursing and rehabilitation services.

You will supervise approximately 5-6 direct reports and oversee referrals, admissions, activity programs, care coordination, and regulatory compliance, while collaborating with nursing, therapy, case management, medical staff, and administration to ensure

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved school of nursing and licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all referrals, admissions, Activity Program, and staff for patients admitted into Swing Bed Program.
• Collaborates efficiently with patients, nursing personnel, therapy services, medical staff, administration, and the public.
• Works closely with Case Management to coordinate appropriate admissions into program.
• Be a key stakeholder in the Med/Surg multidisciplinary care team.
• Demonstrates quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice and treats patients, families, staff, and physicians with dignity and respect.

Get to Know Your Team:

• UT Health Quitman offers 25 private rooms, a 24-hour Level IV trauma center and Level III stroke center, surgical suites, advanced diagnostics, swing bed care, cardiopulmonary rehab, on-site physician clinics, and a sleep lab.


• Lead a specialized Swing Bed program within a 25-bed inpatient unit, serving short-term skilled nursing and rehabilitation patients with an average census of 5-6 patients (up to 11-12 during peak periods).


• This role provides leadership for approximately 5-6 direct reports, including therapy and support staff, while overseeing daily operations, care coordination, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Graduation from an approved school of nursing and licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas


• 1 to 3 years of clinical experience


• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing
