Job summary

UT Health East Texas Pittsburg is seeking a day shift, full-time Swing Bed Unit Nursing Manager to lead a 25-bed inpatient unit. You will oversee daily operations and care coordination for short-term skilled nursing and rehab patients, with approximately 5-6 census and peak 11-12 during busy periods.

You will supervise 7-8 direct reports, drive regulatory compliance, and coordinate admissions, authorizations, and transitions to maximize program utilization and patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved school of nursing and Texas RN license.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Current RN license or equivalent per State Board of Nursing.
• BLS certification obtained within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide innovative leadership to maximize department contribution to hospital performance.
• Deliver care to a group of patients and evaluate multi-disciplinary care to improve outcomes.
• Ensure care delivery aligns with hospital philosophy and collaborates with other departments.
• Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations and accrediting bodies.
• Oversee Swing Bed admissions, including eligibility reviews and payer coordination.
• Collaborate with nursing, therapy, case management, and providers to develop rehab plans and discharge outcomes.
