Job summary

International Spine, Pain & Performance Center is seeking a Nurse Manager to lead nursing operations across Arlington, VA and Washington, DC. You will oversee procedural nursing care, maintain patient safety, and drive clinical standards in a busy outpatient setting.

The role combines hands‑on clinical leadership with staff development, scheduling, and policy implementation to ensure efficient, high‑quality patient care in a two-site practice.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Virginia and Washington, DC.
• 1–2 years of charge nurse, nurse manager, or nursing leadership experience.
• Procedural nursing experience is required.
• Experience in Interventional Radiology (IR), Operating Room (OR), Pre‑Op/PACU, ambulatory surgery, or similar procedural environment.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical‑thinking skills.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple clinical and operational responsibilities in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands‑on nursing care for patients undergoing interventional pain procedures.
• Assist with procedures requiring procedural nursing support, monitoring, and/or sedation.
• Perform pre‑procedure assessments and post‑procedure recovery and monitoring.

Nurse Manager – Interventional Pain Management

Location: Arlington, VA & Washington, DC

Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 7:30 AM–4:30 PM

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Nurse Manager to join our team and oversee nursing operations across our Arlington, VA and Washington, DC locations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse leader who enjoys being hands‑on clinically while also taking ownership of nursing workflows, staff development, patient safety, and operational excellence.

Position Overview

The Nurse Manager will provide leadership and oversight of the nursing team while remaining actively involved in procedural and clinical care. This individual will serve as a key clinical leader within the practice and work closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and administrative leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and consistent patient care.

The ideal candidate is an experienced procedural nurse who is confident managing a busy outpatient environment, comfortable with moderate sedation and post-procedure monitoring, and capable of developing and leading a high-performing nursing team.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical & Procedural Nursing

• Provide hands‑on nursing care for patients undergoing interventional pain procedures.
• Assist with procedures requiring procedural nursing support, monitoring, and/or sedation.
• Perform pre‑procedure assessments and post‑procedure recovery and monitoring.
• Monitor patients for adverse events and appropriately escalat e clinical concerns.
• Maintain a high level of vigilance with patients receiving sedation and other infusion‑based therapies.
• Ensure adherence to established clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist physicians and APPs with procedures as needed.
• Respond appropriately to clinical emergencies and coordinate escalation of care when necessary.

Nursing Leadership & Management

• Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff across both practice locations.
• Establish and maintain consistent nursing workflows and clinical standards.
• Develop and maintain nursing policies, procedures, protocols, and checklists.
• Coordinate nursing schedules and procedural coverage.
• Assist with onboarding, training, competency assessment, and ongoing education of nursing staff.
• Identify performance concerns and work collaboratively with leadership to address them.
• Promote accountability, professionalism, teamwork, and excellent communication within the nursing department.
• Serve as a clinical resource for nurses and other members of the care team.

Operations & Quality

• Work closely with physicians and practice leadership to optimize procedural flow and patient throughput.
• Ensure appropriate staffing and nursing coverage based on procedural volume and acuity.
• Monitor adherence to infection control, medication administration, sedation, recovery, and patient safety standards.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and development of best practices.
• Help identify opportunities to improve efficiency, patient experience, and clinical outcomes.
• Maintain appropriate documentation and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
• Assist leadership with implementation of new clinical services, procedures, and technologies.

Qualifications

Required:

• Active RN license in Virginia and Washington, DC.
• Minimum 1–2 years of charge nurse, nurse manager, or nursing leadership experience.
• Procedural nursing experience is required.
• Previous experience in Interventional Radiology (IR), Operating Room (OR), Pre‑Op/PACU, ambulatory surgery, or a similar procedural environment.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical‑thinking skills.
• Experience caring for patients undergoing procedures and recovering from sedation/anesthesia.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple clinical and operational responsibilities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
• Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, APPs, nurses, and administrative leadership.

Preferred:

• Experience in interventional pain management, anesthesia, ASC, or a similar outpatient procedural specialty.
• Experience with moderate sedation.
• Experience developing or implementing clinical policies and protocols.
• Experience with staff education, competency assessments, and performance management.
• BSN or higher.
