Job summary

Aviata Health Group in Jacksonville, FL is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to lead and mentor clinical staff, drive quality care, and ensure regulatory compliance across the nursing department.

You will recruit, develop, and retain qualified nursing staff, oversee documentation systems, and collaborate with department heads to improve resident outcomes while upholding Aviata's standards of care. This role requires hands-on leadership, strong communication, and strategic planning.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Florida and current CPR certification.
• Minimum 3 years nursing experience with same age/type residents.
• At least 1 year of management experience.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal facility regulations.
• Qualified, compassionate, dedicated to high-quality care.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing education, mentorship, and leadership development to staff.
• Develop and achieve nursing department goals and educational programs.
• Ensure policies and standards comply with guidelines.
• Recruit, hire, and retain qualified nursing staff per staffing plans.
• Collaborate with department heads for interdepartmental relations.
• Develop and monitor documentation systems.
• Provide direct resident care as needed to maintain care standards.
• Innovate processes to continually improve care and systems.
