Job summary

Villa Healthcare is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing RN to oversee the nursing team, support the DON, and ensure high-quality resident care. The ADON will supervise staff, participate in admissions planning, and collaborate with administrators on budget and policy enforcement.

The role requires RN licensure, a nursing degree, CPR certification, and a strong track record in nursing leadership. Flexibility for travel and a commitment to excellence are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven strong management skills, including delegating responsibility to subordinates, performance management, conflict management, and leading through others.
• Must have good financial and management skills.
• Must be able to adapt to a flexible work schedule and occasional overnight travel.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Meets all health requirements, as required by law.
• Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Reviews daily work assignments to ensure regulatory compliance and consistent staffing.
• Assists DON in managing nursing staff, scheduling breaks, and enforcing policies with HR guidance.
• Participates in admissions planning and assessing resident needs.
• Ensures physician visits; ensures equipment, supplies, and staffing for resident care.
• Manages nursing department budget and provides budget info for equipment and staffing.
• Collaborates in staff development programs to improve resident care.
• Works with regional personnel to improve quality of care.
• Plans strategies for improved outcomes to reduce acute care returns.
• Maintains Abuse & Neglect policies across the facility.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
